Gdrv4life atwoodwaterheater waterheatersoot waterheatermalfunction do you have a rv water heater malfunction.
Rv propane water heater black soot.
Gmo00777 on 08 05 08 11 08am here i am now posting a new message.
Is your rv blowing soot out of the water h.
If however there is a problem with the air to fuel ratio the furnace can produce more than the usual amount of soot.
They do not produce soot when operating correctly.
These molecules are colorless and they cannot be seen by the naked eye.
Propane that is burned straight without incorporating oxygen into the process will emit black smoke which leaves soot behind on your outdoor fire feature.
Runs quiter blue flame and no soot.
Also there is a safety valve on your propane tank if you open it to quickly have a cable bill and it will not open and work properly so always open slowly.
So i took the new rv out with the family and at the end of the overnight stay at the campground still getting used to rving i saw there is a black stain on the outside of the water heater.
I have not done it yet but will need to clean the burner tube.
This time it is a question on the new rv i got last month.
The water heater was only on gas for a few hours the next morning i noticed the side of the tt was covered in soot.
Trop a cal on 09 28 08 08 42am i assume you have a propane furnace and oven.
My water heater was doing the same thing soot up the side of the mh.
Soot from gas hot water heater does.
It s an old one with no adjustments so i cleaned it up good.
The only time they would cause soot is if the propane is burning without the require air mixture.
I set the air mixture answered by a verified rv mechanic we use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our website.
Build up or debris can get caught in the burner disrupting the proper flow of gas.
Propane furnaces normally burn clean.
Wrong or no air mixer for propane when you burn propane water vapor and carbon dioxide are produced.
The wrong mixture of air and gas is the cause of soot produced by a hot water heater.
Rather than waist time and money testing the 1999 propane regulator i changed it.
For some crazy reason spiders like propane.
Can i turn on my gas hot water heater just for a few seconds to check the flame.
